WATTON WHARF
This project beside the canal on the edge of Brecon tells the story of the long vanished Hay Tramway. The replica wagon and sculpture of a horse and driver, together with carved seating, create an eye-catching feature and an attractive destination for walkers on the towpath. Interpretation panels are mounted within the wagon and on the back of the driver. Careful research revealed the high impact stories and human interest features which would be likely to appeal to the casual visitor. The panels are designed to look fun, whilst retaining total factual authenticity and being sympathetic to their location and subject matter.
