TALYLLYN PHONE BOX INFORMATION CENTRE
We were proud to be part of this project in our local village, transforming the disused phone box into a mini information centre. The displays promote the local area and tell the story of the railway station, around which the village grew. The project was led by the Llyn Syfaddan History Group, who claim the box is 'Britain's smallest railway museum'! The exterior of the box features attractive graphics and photos applied to the glazed windows. Inside the main display is hinged, opening out to reveal more information within. There is also a small desktop with a ring-bound book fixed to it. The pages add an extra level of information and can be added to or changed to maintain interest. Outside there is a seating area with planting and a replica station sign. The box has been transformed into a centrepiece for our village, popular with visitors and a source of pride for local residents.
