CHEPSTOW CASTLE

This spectacular castle is one of Cadw's most iconic sites. Here we were tasked with producing graphics for a fun and educational family trail. ‘I want Jon Dixon cartoons’ said the client - so that’s what they got. The trail follows the theme of ‘keep it in the family’ - a common thread through the castle’s history. For hundreds of years it was held by some of the most powerful people of the time, but keeping the castle meant keeping on the right side of the king - a fine balance which not everyone managed (the lucky ones just lost the castle - the unlucky ones also lost their heads!)

 

A series of banners briefly tell the stories of the main characters from six key periods of the castle’s history. They also include fun tasks to challenge families, to see if they have the skills to ‘keep Chepstow Castle in the family’.
